Installation and Use Notes
Piping: Use 2.5-inch, high-pressure rated galvanized or stainless steel column piping. Because this pump is designed for high-head applications, ensuring that pipe joints are airtight and pressure-rated is critical to prevent leaks and maximize head efficiency.
Electrical Protection: A standard industrial 3-phase starter is required. While 20HP is manageable, using a soft starter is recommended to prevent mechanical stress on the long pump shaft and to extend the life of the motor windings.
System Monitoring: For deep-well installations, ensure the installation of a low-water cutoff sensor (electrode or float switch) to prevent the pump from running dry, which can cause rapid impeller damage.
Installation Requirements: Even at the 6-inch scale, the cumulative weight of the pump and the vertical piping is significant.
