Installation and Use Notes
Electrical Connection (~SSJKT): This motor comes with a Professional Submersible Splice/Jointing Kit. For a 20 HP motor, the electrical draw is significant; ensure the resin is mixed and applied in a clean, dry environment to ensure an air-tight, water-proof bond that lasts for the life of the motor.
Electrical Protection: A professional 3-phase control panel with Star-Delta or Soft Starter is mandatory. This prevents excessive starting current which could damage the motor windings or trip protective devices. Thermal and overload protection relays must be calibrated to the specific full-load amperage (FLA) of this 20 HP unit.
Cooling and Flow: Minimum flow velocity of 0.15 m/s past the motor casing is required. In larger or low-yield boreholes, a flow induction shroud is strictly necessary to prevent localized overheating.
Cable Safety: Do not use the power cable as a lifting aid. Use the designated eye-bolts with a high-strength safety rope or steel cable. Secure the motor lead to the column pipe every 3 meters to avoid contact with the borehole wall.
