Shaft Material: Hardened stainless steel
Bearing System: Industrial-grade axial and radial thrust bearings designed to support standard down-thrust loads of 7.5 HP pump assemblies.
Sand Protection: Integrated V-CI (V-Type Sand Shield) system, engineered to deflect abrasive sediment and protect the mechanical seals in silt-prone boreholes.
Key Features
Rugged Reliability: The Cast Iron (CI) construction provides a solid, durable housing suitable for challenging borehole environments where structural stability is required.
Sand Defense: The V-CI shield adds a critical layer of protection against abrasive wear, significantly extending the motor’s service life in wells with sand or sediment issues.
Efficient Cooling: The thermal properties of the cast iron housing, combined with an internal liquid-filled design, ensure stable operating temperatures during continuous use.
Standard Compatibility: NEMA-standard interface ensures a secure, leak-proof coupling with compatible 6-inch pump ends.
Installation and Use Notes
Application Suitability: While the CI housing is durable, it is best suited for borehole water chemistries that are non-corrosive. For highly acidic or saline environments, the Stainless Steel (V-SS) model is recommended.
Electrical Protection: A professional 3-phase control panel with thermal overload protection and single-phasing prevention is mandatory. Ensure the overload relay is calibrated precisely to the motor’s Full Load Amperage (FLA).
Cooling Requirement: Maintain a minimum flow velocity of 0.15 m/s past the motor casing. If the borehole diameter is significantly larger than the motor, a flow induction shroud must be used to ensure adequate water circulation.
Handling & Safety: Use the provided lifting eyes for all installation maneuvers. Never use the power cable as a lifting tool. Secure the motor lead to the column pipe at 3-meter intervals to prevent abrasion or snagging.
